Amateur Sports as a Form of Leisure Among the Population: Results of a Sociological Study of Residents of the City of Tver

The article presents the main directions of amateur sports in the modern world. The results of an applied aerobatic sociological study on the topic "Amateur sports as a factor of socialization of residents of the city of Tver" are analyzed. It is revealed what exactly respondents put into the concept of "amateur sport". The predominantly positive attitude of the population to amateur sports has been determined. The most preferred sports that the respondents are engaged in as a leisure activity have been established. The most preferred places for sports for everyone and the reasons that encourage people to engage in or not engage in amateur sports have been identified.
