The Impact of Physical Education and Sports on the Demographic Situation in the Far East

The relevance of the research is determined by the acute demographic situation in Russia, particularly in the Far Eastern Federal District, and the urgent need to find additional tools to improve it. The analysis of the impact of physical culture and sports (PCS) on demographic indicators of the population acquires special significance.
The purpose of the research is to study the relationship between population engagement in PCS and the demographic situation in the Russian Federation, with a special focus on the Far Eastern Federal District. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the comprehensive approach to studying the relationship between PCS and demographic situation, identifying specific features for various sociodemographic groups and regions. The theoretical significance of the work consists in expanding scientific understanding of the role of PCS in territorial demographic development and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population. The practical significance is determined by the possibility of using research results in developing regional PCS and demographic policy programs. The proposed recommendations can be applied by authorities in shaping strategies for physical culture and sports development. The research revealed significant differences in motivation for PCS engagement between men and women, as well as among different age groups. The main barriers preventing regular sports activities have been identified, along with proposed mechanisms to overcome them, taking into account regional specifics.
