Abstract

Today, the most important function of teachers is to expand their own and their students' capabilities in using various AI tools and technologies to improve the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of education. The key factor in successfully integrating AI into university teaching practices is the motivation of teachers and their willingness to incorporate digital technologies and AI tools into the learning process. The article is based on the results of an online survey titled "AI in Higher Education: Teachers' Attitudes". The presented results of the empirical study demonstrate the ambiguity of teachers' attitude towards the use of artificial intelligence: on the one hand, there is a desire to discover new opportunities for automating routine processes and personalizing learning, but on the other hand, there is resistance to the implementation of digital technologies due to a combination of both objective and subjective reasons. In our opinion, the key reason for the low demand for digital technologies and AI in the teaching practice of teachers is the formal approach of universities themselves to the issue of improving the digital competence of teachers.
