Students' Value Orientations in the Context of the Implemented Family and Demographic Policy of the Russian Federation

The family, acting as one of the fundamental social institutions, has always been an extremely important area of state social policy. In recent years, there has been increased attention from the authorities to issues of comprehensive support for family and childhood institutions. Within the framework of this study, the features of modern socio-demographic policy are considered through the prism of students' value orientations. The interest in students is due to the fact that they not only act as a source of replenishment of qualified personnel, but also constitute a large socio-demographic group, active and dynamic, characterized by a special social behavior. The study of the value orientations of representatives of this social group regarding the family and demographic policy pursued in our country is an important stage in identifying existing problems in this area and making predictions about the prospects for the development of the family as a social institution.

Despite the relatively local nature of the study, its results, taking into account the typical character of the considered region of the Russian Federation as an industrial and business region, allow us to talk about the appearance of general trends. Therefore, the results of the study can be used to develop effective actions to overcome the crisis associated with the deformation of the family institution and the unfavorable socio-demographic situation in individual regions, as well as in the country as a whole.

The article presents the results of a sociological study conducted using the questionnaire survey method. The authors draw conclusions about the importance of building a strong family in the value system of most modern students, and also identify the factors that influence their decision to marry, as well as the presence of children in marriage and their number. The authors substantiate the relevance of modern state family and demographic policy, and the need to study the value orientations of individual social groups in order to increase the effectiveness of its implementation.
