Values of Russian Youth: Tradition in an Era of Change

The article is devoted to the study of the problems of values of Russian youth. Scientific interest in this problem is associated with the fact that the transformation of Russian society has affected all spheres of human activity, including spirituality. In the public consciousness, some of the old values have received a new interpretation. It is substantiated that such changes in the value picture of the world of young people need to be studied. The theoretical part of the work presents approaches to understanding values from the standpoint of E. Durkheim, M. Weber, M. Rokeach, V. Yadov. The empirical part presents comparative results of the study of the values of Russian youth: 2022 (N = 1592) and 2024 (N = 6543). The scientific novelty of the study is that traditional values for the younger generation remain unchanged. These include family, safety of relatives, health, and family relationships. However, it is important to maintain these traditional values, as well as create conditions for the formation and development of other values, such as the value of volunteering and volunteer activities.
