On the Issue of the Functions of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation in Modern Conditions

The article is devoted to the analysis of the main activities of the Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation at the present stage. The concept of "functions of the prosecutor's office" is studied taking into account the provisions of modern practical and general theoretical studies of this category, and the definition of the concept of "function of the prosecutor's office" is given. The function of the Prosecutor's office is a key legal category that reveals the content of the prosecutor's office. But to date, science has not developed a unified approach to the definition of this legal phenomenon, which entails a number of theoretical and practical problems.
The purpose of the work is to analyze such a category as "function", to study existing scientific approaches to determining the concept of "function of the prosecutor's office", to identify the characteristic features of this legal category, reflecting in detail the purpose of the Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation as a state body in the mechanism of the state.
As a result of the research, the author's position regarding the nature of the legal category under study is substantiated. Based on the analysis of the current legislation, the authors make proposals to improve the current legislation regarding the regulation of a clear list of functions of the prosecutor's office and their content.
