Trends in the Decline of the Institution of Family and Family Values in Modern Russian Society in the Views of Young People (on the Example of the Youth of the Konakovsky District of the Tver Region)

The article examines the problems of the formation of family values of modern Russian youth caused by the influence of Western values and the generation gap. A comparative analysis of the decline of family values among the youth of Western and eastern societies is given. An increase in individualism, a decrease in communications, the loss of traditional values, and the differentiation of society are recognized as the causes of the decline of family values. The results of an applied sociological study are presented, during which the opinions of young people about the main causes and consequences of the decline of the institution of family and family values are revealed. The results of this study are of great practical importance and can be used to form youth policy in educational organizations and the media to promote family values. The opinions on the need to increase the prestige of the institution of the family and the key ways to increase the prestige of the family lifestyle among young people through propaganda and advertising in the media are revealed. The negative trends in the development of the institution of family and family values in Russian society in the form of refusal to create a family, the development of the Childfree movement are investigated. The reproductive plans of young people for the future to create their own official families have been revealed. The means of developing family values in children is recognized as their own example of behavior and maintaining family relations, involvement in educational activities.
