Family Values of Modern Youth (Based on the Example of a Study of the Youth of the Konakovsky District of the Tver Region)

The dynamics of the development of family values from ancient times to the present, which shape the demographic behavior of young people, is considered. The results of a sociological study in the Konakovsky district of the Tver region are presented, the purpose of which is to analyze the causes and consequences of the decline of the institution of family and family values in Russian society. The study presents an interpretation of the concept of "family" for young people. The foundations of the formation of a family union, the main importance of the family as a legally formed union are revealed. The associations of the definition of "family" with love, loyalty, comfort, and respect are defined. The most important family values have been established: moral, family lifestyle, birth and upbringing of children. The opinions of young people about the purpose of the family for the state and society in the form of procreation are established. The results of the study can be used to build an effective educational and demographic policy for young people.
