Transformation of Digital Activity Practices of Contemporary Youth: a Comparative Analysis

At present, the virtual environment, which has a significant power of influence on contemporary youth, determines the diversity of digital activity practices realized by representatives of young generations in everyday format, which determines the relevance and demand for sociological diagnostics of this direction. The purpose of this study is to identify the specifics of youth actions in the global information space and to determine the motivating factors of their active participation in online practices.

The scientific and practical significance of the study lies in the fact that in the conditions of the new digital paradigm, which largely determines the life orbit of young generations, it is necessary to study the whole range of online activity practices of young people in the conditions of accelerating rates of digitalization. The article searches for a solution to the question of what practical actions should be taken in order to strengthen the role of the digital environment in the formation of youth behavioral practices of positive orientation and to completely neutralize, exclude the determining role of the Internet environment in the formation of their negative forms.

The value and novelty of the analysis is due to the comparative analysis of the dynamics of change in digital behavioral trends of young people, based on the results of two representative surveys of young people in 2021 and 2023. Based on the results of the study, conclusions are formulated about the prevalence of various practices of digital activity of Russian youth, and trends in their further development are described.
