The Role of Rap Music in Shaping the Life Worlds, Cultural and Value Preferences of Student Youth in the 2000s – 2010s (Based on Sociological Research)

The relevance of the study is due to the permanent increase in popularity and the increase in the breadth of reception of musical products of domestic rap performers among young people in the 21st century. It has been determined that rap music has the greatest influence on the formation of life worlds and axiological orientations on the declared social group, which is explained by their essential characteristics. The purpose of the study is to consider the impact of rap music on the constitution of life worlds, cultural and value orientations of Russian youth in the 2000-2010s. The development of rap music in the domestic socio-cultural space is analyzed. The factors of politicization of art in Russian society are revealed. A substantive analysis of relevant sociological studies is carried out. Based on the generalization of the results of the available data, the authors identified the main directions of cultural and value orientations, as well as identified a block of anti-values that form the creativity of rap performers for Russian youth in modern socio-cultural realities. The scientific novelty of the conducted research is determined by the author's classification of values and anti-values in the formation of axiological orientations and life worlds of Russian youth at the beginning of the 21st century.
