Abstract

The article presents the evidence base of the expediency of the dual nature of cooperatives, which manifests itself in the social essence and its implementation through market management mechanisms of both shareholders and cooperatives themselves. An example of an actively developing and promising consumer cooperative is presented, in which difficulties arise with borrowed sources of financing. Measures are proposed to improve the socio-economic conditions for the development of cooperative processes in rural areas, including through the creation of a unified system of cooperation.
