History of Anti-Russian Sanctions and Their Impact on the Economy

Western anti-Russian sanctions are many years of political, economic and other pressure from unfriendly countries on the Russian Federation. The relevance of the study increases with increasing sanctions pressure on the Russian economy; it consists in classifying the impact of sanctions and assessing the effectiveness of anti-sanctions measures on economic development. The purpose of the article is to study the transformation of sanctions over time, to find ways to overcome sanctions pressure based on the accumulated experience of the past. The novelty of the study lies in the classification of sanctions by periods of development and types. Sanctions have transformed over time into direct interference in politics and economics and have become irrational for the countries imposing them. The analysis showed that the pronounced effect of introducing various types of sanctions is obtained only from homeostasis and limiting socio-economic development, while other types of sanctions do not achieve their goals.
