Legal Prohibitions and the Formation of Legal Consciousness

This article examines the role of criminal prohibitions in shaping the value orientations of legal entities. The article's relevance stems from the importance of criminal prohibitions in maintaining law and order in Russia, not only at the state level but also at the citizen level. The article aims to comprehensively examine the impact of the form, content, and meaning of criminal law prohibitions on the value orientations of Russian citizens. Drawing on theoretical insights from cultural criminology, the authors analyzed the state of Russian law reality and concluded that criminal prohibitions, as a social construct, not only demarcate the boundaries of permitted behavior but also influence the formation of value orientations of legal consciousness, determining the degree of an individual's involvement/exclusion in the functioning and development of law reality.
