Formation of the Qualities of Patriotism and Citizenship in the Educational Process

The relevance of this study stems from the need to create updated content for the "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood" course workshop, with subsequent incorporation of the article's materials into the educational process. In connection with the course curriculum update for the 2025/26 academic year, the authors plan to publish a teaching aid at KNITU-KAI Publishing House.
The purpose of this article is to examine the important qualities of patriotism and civic responsibility in today's youth, using the educational and upbringing processes of the KNITU-KAI Department of Philosophy and the KAI Museum as examples. The mechanisms for developing these qualities are examined through student participation in various events dedicated to the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, as well as through courses such as Russian history, philosophy, and "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood."
An analysis is provided of the development of essential traditional values, knowledge, patriotic views, and skills in young people. This article examines the influence of the interdisciplinary approach on the development of such personality traits as love for one's homeland and civic responsibility within the framework of the courses "Russian history," "Fundamentals of Russian statehood," and philosophy. The authors demonstrate how this approach fosters a sense of patriotism in young people.
The study presents methods, forms, and examples of pedagogical and educational influences through the courses "Fundamentals of Russian statehood," history, and philosophy. The article provides practical examples of the implementation of Russian government programs and decrees on developing patriotism and civic responsibility. This paper concludes that the complex processes involved in developing important qualities and traditional values in students who actively participated in various events and activities during the preparation and implementation of the "Year of Defender of the Fatherland" and the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory can be used in future years as examples of the implementation of the programs and decrees of the Russian leadership.
