Abstract

In the context of the constantly increasing pace of interstate communication, there is an increasing need to understand the nature of the content of international legal norms in order to ensure their implementation, and therefore the existing international legal order. At the moment, theory and practice disagree on the issue of defining international legal obligations and the grounds for their classification. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the main approaches to classifying international legal obligations in relation to international environmental protection. The conducted research makes it possible to identify specific features of international legal obligations in international environmental law, gaps in some theoretical constructions and possible ways to eliminate them. The work confirms the importance of the theoretical development of issues of typologization of international legal obligations, as well as the relationship with the institute of international responsibility. The results of this study can be useful for research, educational and practical purposes.
