Abstract
The article analyzes the work of Russian and foreign researchers on the topic of youth social competence as one of the factors shaping political behavior. The conducted research required the solution of several tasks, including the disclosure of the concept of social competence of the younger generation in modern science, the definition of its importance in political socialization, the assimilation of a system of values, skills necessary to fulfill political roles. The purpose of the study is to study the social competence of the younger generation from the perspective of shaping political behavior. The novelty of this study lies in the presented conclusions that the social competence of the younger generation, including political competence, affects how young people comprehend and participate in political processes. The practical significance of the work is due to the possibility of using the findings in substantiating an adaptive model of political behavior formation.
The author comes to the conclusion that the social competence of the younger generation is one of the important factors in the formation of political activity. It is determined by the access and impact of opportunities, which vary significantly depending on the specific cultural environment. These gaps in opportunities lead to inequalities in political participation throughout life.
