Genesis of Criminal Prohibitions

The article is devoted to the study of the genesis of criminal prohibitions in an axiological context. The relevance of the article is determined by the significance of criminal prohibitions in ensuring national security, law and order in Russia. The purpose of the article is to comprehensively study the genesis of the criminal prohibition as a means of legal regulation of social relations in the historical and sociocultural context. Based on the adaptation of the theory of cultural criminology by J. Farrell to the study of the formation and functioning of primary prohibitions, the article concludes that the genesis of criminal prohibitions occurred in the process of sociocultural evolution and was determined by the value systems of public consciousness.
