On the Issue of Improving Prosecutorial Supervision in the Field of Environmental Protection

The article examines the problems of prosecutorial supervision in the field of environmental protection, analyzes the practice of prosecutorial supervision, identifies typical violations of laws encountered during prosecutorial inspections, and evaluates the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the activities of prosecutorial authorities in this area. Based on an analysis of the current legislation and the practice of the prosecutor's office, it was concluded that the problems faced by the current environmental protection system are interdepartmental in nature, since the control and elimination of identified violations is the responsibility of several government authorities and control bodies in the field of environmental protection. To solve these problems, it is necessary to unite joint activities under the leadership of a coordinating center, which today is the prosecutor's office. Currently, there is a legislative need to consolidate the concept of coordination activities to ensure environmental safety and its legal regulation, to expand the composition of subjects of coordination activities, to include representatives of state authorities, local governments, and regulatory authorities.
