Turkey's Export Strategy: Problems and Prospects in the Сontext of Decarbonization of the World Economy

The article discusses the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), a tool proposed by the EU for the decarbonization of the global economy. The goal of CBAM is to contain the "carbon leakage" that occurs when goods are imported from countries with more carbon-intensive industries and technologies. It is proposed through a carbon tax. The latter affects the interests of many exporters to the EU countries, influencing the sectoral structure of exporting countries and national export strategies. The possible impact of CBAM on the volume of exports of carbon-intensive goods from third countries to the EU countries is considered on the example of Turkish exports to the EU.
